At just 1580g (3.47 lbs) for a complete painted frame (with shock!) the new Scalpel doesn't just beat the competition in the weight wars, it obliterates them. Nothing else is even close.
Of course this means nothing if stiffness or durability are sacrificed, so as well as being lighter the Scalpel is stiffer than the previous version and has posted some of the best stiffness numbers ever recorded in Tour magazine's independant third party tests!
Scalpel achieves 80mm of efficient, progressive rear suspension without pivots, bushings or bearings. Through radically advanced carbon lay-up and shaping, the seatstays and chainstays are allowed to flex vertically while maintaining best-in-class lateral and torsional stiffness-to-weight numbers. Pure efficiency.
Scalpel is System Integration. Cannondale achieve unbelievable weight saving and efficiency by designing components and frames to work together. The Lefty fork, Si OPI Stem, and Hollowgram SL BB30 crankset give system stiffness and weights that our competitors can only dream of.
