The route starts close to the southernmost point of Chapman's Peak just outside Noordhoek, then in a varying terrain you arrive in Sun Valley, where there is a fairly steep 2 km climb known as the small" OuKaapse Weg The film continues across a flat terrain along the western coast from Cape Town through the suburb of Bloubergstrand The way back is along a road on the coast with almost unbroken views of Cape Town's world famous Table Mountain In the next part you are just a few kilometres from the Stellenbosch wine route This gently rolling terrain takes you towards the edge of the village of Stellenbosch where you finish at the top of the challenging Helshoogte climb. Helshoogte is one of the climbs that is taken in the four-day Giro del Capo race stage which is ridden shortly before the Argus Cycle tour. Then you ride the undulating road between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. .

The terrain around Stellenbosch has become a popular holiday destination for many European professional cycling teams. Jan Ullrich's T-Mobile team as well as Chipolini's Domina Vacanze come here to train. Johan Bruyneel, Lance Armstrong's team manager also trained a great deal here in the time when he was still cycling. .

Stellenbosch with its fantastic weather in the summer offers safe broad roads and many spectacular mountain passes and is ideal as a 200km long training route. The last part of the video comprises a 700m long very steep climb up to the Table Mountain cable railway station. The route carries on to the end of the Table Mountain road overlooking Cape Town. On the way back there is constantly a view of Table Mountain. .
